a multitude of the ancients, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please: 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme! 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth 51 shall all eat from the Tree of al-Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Have you considered the seed you spill? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You have certainly known the first creation. Why, then, do you not take heed? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We so pleased, We could turn your harvest into chaff. Then you would start lamenting, 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
