a large group of the earlier people 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please: 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 and had persisted in the Great Sin. 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and drink boiling water on top of that, 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Behold! that which ye emit. 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; 60 that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Nay, but we are deprived! 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
