▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 that this is an honorable Quran 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Would you say that this statement is a lie? 81 and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false? 82 Why can you not help a soul dying 83 the while you are [helplessly] looking on 84 We are closer to him than you, but you cannot see. 85 why then, if you are not revived, 86 why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But if he is of the deniers and the errants, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water, 93 and the heat of a blazing fire! 94 Surely this is the truth of certainty. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
