▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 it is indeed a Glorious Koran, 77 preserved in a hidden Book which 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny? 81 Do you make its denial your means of livelihood? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 and you are watching at that time 84 And We are nigher unto him than ye are, but ye behold not 85 Then why, if you are not indebted (to Us for life), 86 Cause ye it not to return, if ye say sooth? 87 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, 88 Then happiness and bounty and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 And if he be of the beliers, the erring, 92 The welcome will be boiling water 93 and the heat of hell fire. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 96
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
