The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify God. He is the Majestic and All-wise. 1 Believers, why do you say what you never do? 2 It is most hateful in the sight of God if you say something and do not practice it. 3 Lo! Allah loveth them who battle for His cause in ranks, as if they were a solid structure. 4 And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 5 And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic. 6 And who could be more wicked than one who invents [such] a lie about [a message from] God, seeing that he is [but] being called to self-surrender unto Him? But God does not bestow His guidance upon evil-doing folk. 7 They want to put out the light of God with their mouths, but God will certainly make His light shine forever - even though the disbelievers may dislike this. 8 He it is Who has sent forth the Messenger with the Guidance and the True Religion that He may make it prevail over all religion, however those that associate aught with Allah in His Divinity might dislike this. 9
