Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ All that is in heavens and earth exalt Allah, the King, the Pure, the Almighty, the Wise. 1 It is He who has raised up from among the common people a Messenger from among them, to recite His signs to them and to purify them, and to teach them the Book and the Wisdom, though before that they were in manifest error, 2 And he (the Holy Prophet) bestows knowledge to others along with them, who have not yet joined them; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Wise. 3 Such is God's bounty: He grants it to anyone who is willing [to receive it]: for God is limitless in His great bounty. 4 The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. 5 Say: "O ye that stand on Judaism! If ye think that ye are friends to Allah, to the exclusion of (other) men, then express your desire for Death, if ye are truthful!" 6 And they will never wish for it because of the misdeeds their hands have sent ahead; and Allah well knows the unjust. 7 Say: 'Death from which you flee is sure to reach you. Then you shall be returned to the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible, and He will tell you all that you have done' 8
