No affliction can befall man but by God's permission -- He guides the hearts of those who believe in Him: God has knowledge of all things -- 11 And obey God, and obey the Messenger; but if you turn your backs, it is only for the Messenger to deliver the Manifest Message. 12 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. In Allah, therefore, let believers put their trust. 13 Believers, some of your wives and children may prove to be your enemies so beware of them. However, if you would pardon, ignore and forgive, know that God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 14 Your riches and your children may be but a trial: but in the Presence of Allah, is the highest, Reward. 15 So fear God as much as you can, and listen and obey, and spend in charity for your own good. He who is saved from his own avarice will be successful. 16 If you lend to God a good loan, He will multiply it for you, and will forgive you. God is All-thankful, All-clement, 17 God is the Knower of the unseen and the seen: He is the Almighty, the Wise One. 18
