Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 And they will say: had we been wont to hearken or to reflect, we had not been among the fellows of the Blaze. 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
