Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and We have made them for driving away devils. For them We have prepared the punishment of the blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner? 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
