Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And whather ye keep your discourse secret or publish it, verily He is the Knower of that which is in the breasts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
