He it is Who made the earth smooth for you, therefore go about in the spacious sides thereof, and eat of His sustenance, and to Him is the return after death. 15 Have you become unafraid of the One Who controls the heavens, that He will not cause you to sink into the earth when it trembles? 16 Or have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not let loose on you a hurricane? But ye shall know the manner of My warning. 17 But indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)? 18 Have they not regarded the birds above them spreading their wings, and closing them? Naught holds them but the All-merciful. Surely He sees everything. 19 Or who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in naught but illusion. 20 Or who is such that will give you sustenance if Allah stops His sustenance? In fact they persist in rebellion and hatred. 21 Is he who goeth groping on his face more rightly guided, or he who walketh upright on a straight road? 22 Say: “He it is Who has brought you into being, and has given you hearing and sight, and has given you hearts to think and understand. How seldom do you give thanks!” 23 Say: "It is He Who has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered together." 24 And they say, “When will this promise come, if you are truthful?” 25 Say thou: the knowledge is only with Allah, and I am but a warner manifest. 26 Yet in the end, when they shall see that [fulfilment] close at hand, the faces of those who were bent on denying the truth will be stricken with grief; and they will be told, "This it is that you were [so derisively] calling for!" 27 Say to them: “Did you ever consider: whether Allah destroys me and those that are with me, or shows mercy to us, who can protect the unbelievers from a grievous chastisement?” 28 Say thou: He is the Compassionate; in Him we have believed, and in Him we have put our trust. And anon ye will know who it is that is in error manifest. 29 Say: 'What do you think. If your water should sink into the earth in the morning, who then would bring you running water' 30
