Indeed for the pious, with their Lord, are Gardens of Serenity. 34 or should We, perchance, treat those who surrender themselves unto Us as [We would treat] those who remain lost in sin? 35 What is the matter with you? How judge you? 36 Or do you have a scripture in which you learn 37 Surely therein you shall have whatever you choose! 38 Or is it that you have a covenant from Us, right up to the Day of Judgement, that you will get all what you claim? 39 Ask them (O Muhammad) which of them will vouch for that! 40 Or have they, perchance, any sages to support their views? Well, then, if they are sincere in this their claim, let them produce those supporters of theirs 41 On the Day when the leg shall be bared, and they are ordered to prostrate themselves, they will be unable. 42 Their looks cast down, abasement shall overtake them; and they were called upon to make obeisance indeed while yet they were safe. 43 Hence, leave Me alone with such as give the lie to this tiding. We shall bring them low, step by step, without their perceiving how it has come about: 44 Yet I will give them respite: Surely My plan is compact. 45 Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 46 Is the unseen within their grasp so that they write it down? 47 So wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, and be not like the companion of the fish, when he cried while he was in distress. 48 Were it not for his Lord’s favour that reached him, he would have surely been cast onto the desolate land, reproached. 49 But his Lord chose him as His Prophet and made him one of the righteous ones. 50 Hence, [be patient,] even though they who are bent on denying the truth would all but kill thee with their eyes whenever they hear this reminder, and [though] they say: "[As for Muhammad,] behold, most surely he is a madman!" 51 Yet it is purely an admonition to mankind. 52
