Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a lofty Garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
