Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
