Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
