Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
