Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a high garden 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
