Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
