Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in a high Garden, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 I am bereft of power." 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 and no food except pus 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
