Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
