Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
