Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In high empyrean 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
