Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a high garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
