Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in an exalted garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
