But nay! I swear by all that ye see 38 And by whatsoever you see not, 39 because the Quran is certainly the word of a reverent messenger. 40 It is not the word of a poet but only a few of you have faith, 41 nor the speech of a soothsayer (little do you remember). 42 [it is] a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds. 43 And if he had forged concerning us some discourses. 44 We would have seized him by the right hand; 45 then We would surely have cut his life-vein 46 and not one of you could have defended him. 47 And verily, this Quran is a Reminder for the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 48 We certainly know that some among you will give the lie to it, 49 And indeed it is a despair for the disbelievers. 50 for, verily, it is truth absolute! 51 Exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 52
