WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 in crowds, both on the right and on the left? 37 Does every man of them long to enter the Garden of Bliss? 38 By no means! For We have created them out of the (base matter) they know! 39 But nay! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly able 40 to substitute a better than they; We shall not be outstripped. 41 So leave them to engage in vain talk and to amuse themselves until they come face to face with the Day which they are promised, 42 The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening. 43 with their eyes cast down and covered by disgrace; the day about which they were promised. 44
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej). Sent down in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
