WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 On the right and on the left, in companies? 37 Does every man of them hope to enter the Paradise of delight? 38 Never! For, behold, We have created them out of something that they know [only too well]! 39 So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 Wherefore let thou them alone plunging in vanity and sporting until they meet their Day which they are promised. 42 the Day when they shall come out of their graves in haste, as if they were racing to a goal, 43 Their eyes lowered in dejection, ignominy covering them (all over)! such is the Day the which they are promised! 44
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej). Sent down in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
