Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.'
