Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 And Allah has brought you forth from the (dust of) earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 29, Page 97]. 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
