Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
