Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 rain from the sky, 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and has set up within them the moon as a light [reflected] and set up the sun as a [radiant] lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
