Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And Allah hath made the earth unto you an expanse. 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
