Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and give you a respite for an appointed time. When the time which God has appointed arrives, none will be able to postpone it. Would that you knew this!" 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
