Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
