Nuh (Noah) said: "My Lord! They have disobeyed me, and followed one whose wealth and children give him no increase but only loss. 21 "And they have plotted a mighty plot. 22 "And they have said (to each other), 'Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa', neither Yaguth nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr';- 23 "And so they have led many a one astray: hence, ordain Thou that these evildoers stray but farther and farther away [from all that they may desire]!" 24 And so, because of their sins, they were drowned [in the great flood,] and were doomed to suffer the fire [of the hereafter]; and they found none who could succour them against God. 25 And Noah (supplicated) saying: 'My Lord, do not leave a single unbeliever upon the earth. 26 "For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones. 27 "O my Sustainer! Grant Thy forgiveness unto me and unto my parents, and unto everyone who enters my house as a believer, and unto all believing men and believing women [of later times]; and grant Thou that the doers of evil shall increasingly meet with destruction!" 28
