Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
