Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
