Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 which guides to the right path; so we have believed in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord, 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
