Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
