Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 Now that we have listened to the guidance, we believe in it. Whoever believes in his Lord does not need to fear loss or oppression. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. 19
