Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
