Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 but those who have deviated shall become the fuel of Gehenna (Hell). 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 That We might try them there by. And whosoever turneth aside from the remembrance of his Lord, him He shall thrust into a torment vehement. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 (It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation). 19
