Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
