Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you who are wrapped up in your mantle, 1 stand up to pray for much of the night. 2 half of it, or reduce it a little; 3 Or add (a little) thereto - and chant the Qur'an in measure, 4 Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.). 5 Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech. 6 Indeed you have a lot of matters during the day. 7 But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no Allah save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender - 9 And bear thou with patience whatsoever they say, and depart from them with a becoming departure. 10 Leave to Me those who belie, those who lead a life of pleasure, and bear with them yet a little while. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 food that chokes and painful punishment 13 On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 But the Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a grievous punishment. 16 Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? 17 The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
