Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O thou enwrapped! 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 half the night, or a little less 3 Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. 4 Verily We! anon We shall cast upon thee a weighty word. 5 Verily the rising by night! it is most curbing and most conducive to right speech. 6 True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties: 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. 8 He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 for with Us there are fetters, and a furnace, 12 And a Food that chokes, and a Penalty Grievous. 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 Surely We have sent to you an Apostle, a witness against you, as We sent an apostle to Firon. 15 but Pharaoh rebelled against the Messenger, so We seized him remorselessly. 16 How then, if ye disbelieve, shall ye escape, on a Day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is a reminder. So let him who desires take the way to his Lord. 19
