Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 (a half of it, or diminish a little, 3 Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. 4 We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity). 5 Indeed getting up in the night is tougher, and the words flow with strength. 6 surely in the day thou hast long business. 7 And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion. 8 He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. 9 And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance. 10 Leave to Me those who belie, those who lead a life of pleasure, and bear with them yet a little while. 11 Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. 12 And a food that chokes, and a painful torment. 13 On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. 14 Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger. 15 But the Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a grievous punishment. 16 Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired? 17 And the heaven shall be split therein. His promise indeed must be fulfilled. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19
