20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O YOU ENWRAPPED in the cloak (of Prophethood), 1 Stay up the night long save a little 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof, 3 Or increase thereto. And intone the Qur'an with measured intonations. 4 We are about to cast upon you a weighty Word. 5 [and,] verily, the hours of night impress the mind most strongly and speak with the clearest voice, 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 But recite the name of your Lord withdrawing yourself from everything, devoting yourself exclusively to Him. 8 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs). 9 Bear patiently with what they say, and ignore them politely. 10 And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little. 11 Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire, 12 And food that chokes, and a painful punishment. 13 On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand. 14 Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Musa (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). 15 But Pharaoh rebelled against the messenger, whereupon We seized him with no gentle grip. 16 So how will you save yourselves, if you disbelieve, on a day that will turn children old? 17 And the heaven shall be split therein. His promise indeed must be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
