Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 Or add (a little) thereto - and chant the Qur'an in measure, 4 For we shall charge thee with a word of weight. 5 Verily the rising by night! it is most curbing and most conducive to right speech. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 The Sustainer of the east and the west [is He]: there is no deity save Him: hence, ascribe to Him alone the power to determine thy fate, 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 Leave those to Me who deny, the lovers of ease and comfort; and bear with them for a while. 11 Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. 12 and food that chokes, and grievous suffering 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 Surely We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We had sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Musa (Moses)], so We seized him with a severe punishment. 16 How then, if ye disbelieve, shall ye escape, on a Day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 On that day, the heavens will be rent asunder. This is the decree of God which has already been ordained. 18 Surely this is a Reminder; so let him who will take unto his Lord a way. 19
