The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 arise and warn, 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 thy robes purify 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 So that is a tough day. 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 Never. He is refractory of Our signs. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 Burning the skins! 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
