The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you who covers himself [with a garment], 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 purify your garments; 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he beheld, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
